KCLSU President-Elect announces proposals for promised Student Wellbeing Levy.
LONDON, 31 March 2025 - In accordance with the commitments made by President-Elect of the King's College London Students' Union ("KCLSU") Baiyu Liu, he has formally released the a declaration of the Student Wellbeing Levy ("SWL"). This text lays out the exact scope and route for the implementation of the SWL.
The SWL is a policy that the President-Elect intends to propose to his fellow Trustees and colleagues at the KCLSU, and is contingent on its passage through the relevant democratic processes. This will impose an additional 15% charge on external bookings of KCLSU rooms, and if implemented, we will work to extend this charge to other King's College London rooms.
The funds raised by the SWL are intended to go to causes important to student wellbeing. This declaration is an important step forward in showing how the President-Elect intends to implement his policies in a swift, practical manner.
The incoming administration is committed to demonstrating leadership at the KCLSU and delivering on the necessary changes to improve the experiences of students at King's College London.
